Mock Trial for Students

Pic (12)Partners for Democratic Change Serbia, in cooperation with the Lawyers’ Academy of the Bar Association of Serbia, organized a Mock Trial in accordance with the new Criminal Procedure Code. The mock trial was held in Belgrade, on 27 and 28 May 2016.

Over 50 students from six law schools participated at the event: the School of Law Union, Law Faculty University of Belgrade, School of Law Lazar Vrkatic Novi Sad, Law Faculty University of Nis, Law Faculty University of Kragujevac, and Law School Novi Sad.

As a part of preparation for the mock trial, students were provided internship opportunities in lawyer or prosecutor offices, and have an opportunity to attend the trials.

 The students from the Law Faculty University of Nis won the competition.

This simulation is a part of the project ”Serbia Criminal Defense Capacity Program – CDCP”, implemented by Partners Serbia in cooperation with American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI), and in cooperation with the Bar Association of Serbia, and supported by the US Department of State / Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
