20160831_181838On August 31, 2016, Partners Serbia, in association with the BAS, organized a lecture on ‟Detention and Violation of Rights Regarding Detention“ in Belgrade. Over 50 attorneys and their trainees from Belgrade, Pancevo, Sabac, Novi Sad and Becej, gathered at the Lawyer’s Academy to hear about basic principles concerning the rights to liberty and security, as well as the topic of detention.

Through a series of hypothetical and factual cases, lecturer Jugoslav Tintor, a lawyer from Belgrade, presented the most important articles of the European Convention on Human Rights, the regulatory framework concerning detention, and covered a range of topics relating to this institute – the lawful deprivation of liberty, legal proceedings, the reasonable doubt, the rights of the arrested and persons deprived of liberty, justification of the decision on detention, the public interest, urgency, bail, reasons for detention…

This lecture was organized within the Regional E-learning Project, and will soon be available on the BRRLN E-learning Platform.
